TASIS The American School in Switzerland

TASIS runs an elementary, middle and high school on its hillside campus above Lugano, with boarding starting in grade 6. English is the main language of instruction, and an English as an additional language programme supports students who need it. In the senior years students choose between the American Diploma with Advanced Placement courses and the IB Diploma.

A defining feature is academic travel: structured trips across Europe have run since the school’s first year and remain part of the programme, alongside a global service scheme. The campus is made up of more than twenty buildings, and the school runs summer programmes for younger ages. It is accredited by the Council of International Schools and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and is a member of the Association of Boarding Schools.
